Regional GDP In Europe In 2010

Regional GDP per capita in the EU27's 270 NUTS-2 regions in terms of purchasing power standards ranged from 26% of the EU27 average in Severozapaden in Bulgaria to 328% of the average in Inner London. Eight major capital regions appear in the first ten regions.

More than one region in seven had a GDP per capita above 125% of the average. Inner London was first in the rankings with Luxembourg next with 266%, Brussels with 223% and Hamburg with 203%. One in four was below 75%. All of the lowest rankings were in Bulgaria and Romania.

Some regional GDP per capita statistics are influenced by commuter flows. Net commuter flow can push up a regions GDP level significantly to a level that could not be achieved by a local population on its own. It may appear that some regions appear overestimated due to commuter inflows while others appear underestimated due to commuter outflows.
