GDP Quarterly Estimates Lower

UK GDP decreased by 0.3% between Q3 and Q4 2012 according to a statistical bulletin from the ONS. Production output fell by 1.9% with manufacturing down by 1.3%. Services output fell by 0.1% and construction output increased by 0.9%. Household consumption increased by 0.2%. Employee compensation rose by 0.1%.

Agricultural output decreased by 0.5% in Q4 2012 follwoign a 4.9% increase in Q3. The production industries fell by 1.9% whereas in Q3 they grew by 0.7%. Over the year 2012 production output fell by 2.4%. Manufacturing output fell by 1.3%. Services output decreased by 0.1% during the fourth quarter after an increase of 1.2% the quarter before. Services output grew by 1% over the whole of 2012.
