There was a rounded up increase of 0.1% from 2.4% in June to 2.6% in July in the CPI between June and July 2012 according to the ONS. The main upward pressure on the CPI came from transport and clothing and footwear. Air fares increased by 21.7% during the period compared with 9.8% a year ago. There were no significant downward pressures on the CPI between June and July.
