UK Trade Deficit Narrows To £2.7bn

The trade deficit in goods and services fell from £2.9bn in February to £2.7bn in March 2012 according to ONS figures. Trade in goods was unchanged at £8.6bn but the surplus of trade in services was estimated to be £5.8bn compared with a surplus of £5.6bn in February. Exports and imports of goods were at record levels in March as exports rose by £1.4bn to £26.4bn and imports rose by £1.4bn to £34.9bn in March.
