March Unemployment Up To 8%

The March 2011 labour market ststistics from the ONS say that the unemployment rate was 8% with 2.53m unemployed people in the UK. The employment rate was 70.5% with 29.16m people in employment. Inactivity measured 23.3% or 9.33m economically inactive people aged 16-64. Total pay (pay including bonuses) increased by 2.3% on the previous year and regular pay by 2.2%.
